I don't typically post from work, but this is really baffling and I just had to comment on it.
My office is about a block from Welland's main fire station. My office also gets incredibly stuffy, so on a typical day I have at least a few windows open. As a result, I hear just about every time a Fire Truck leaves the station (assuming they have their sirens on).
On a normal day, this seems to happen somewhere in range of zero to one times. Twice comes across as a busy day, at least to myself, a casual observer in this case.
Today is not a normal day.
It's not even noon yet, and I've counted 5 sirens already - not counting the Fire Truck I pulled over to let by on my way to work. They've been at pretty random intervals, ever 20-40 minutes or so. A little too spaced out to assume they're reacting to the same fire, being that it's now 3 hours later, and I'm pretty sure there's not 5 trucks in that station.
So I'm assuming one of two things:
- This is a training exercise, likely to train new Drivers on how to handle a Fire Truck in an emergency situation, while dealing with live traffic.
- Welland is in the grip of a Serial Arsonist, who has clearly planted fire bombs all over the city. He cackles maniacally as he watches the city's emergency crews rush to stop attack after attack.
Clearly the second one is much more interesting.
Serial Arsonist in Welland?
And clearly the second one is much more realistic in Welland.
P.S. I still come here for your lil’ web tools.
