Necron Wraith Lord

June 5th, 2008

MiniWarGamer Dave dropped into the office yesterday. While this is not entirely uncommon, especially for a Wednesday, what took place after that point was. He happened to notice (ok, I gloatingly showed off) my recent Necron Wraith Lord conversion. I honestly didn't expect the conversion to go as well as it did, and as a result I didn't take any photos while I was working on it.

Luckily, Dave came to the rescue. After an unexpected interview with yours truly, he put together a great video detailing how I pulled off the conversion.

Anyhow, you can watch the whole thing on YouTube. Or I might be nice and let you see it right here...

Painting Technique - Blending

May 7th, 2008

I've got a new article up at MiniWarGaming; this time, discussing a Painting Technique called Blending. Basically, you apply consecutive layers of really watered down paint over an area to slowly build a fade from one colour to another.

Though I've demonstrated this on a Necron Gauss-weapon Rod, there's all sorts of ways this technique can be used. Anyhow, check it out!

Guacamole and The Summoning Core

May 6th, 2008

I found myself a bit peckish after getting back from walking Callie, and decided that I really wanted a Peanut Butter Sandwich. I went to the fridge to get myself some Milk, and noticed I had half of a ripe Avacado sitting on the top shelf.

A few minutes later, my intended peanut butter sandwich became a small bowl of homemade Guacamole instead. No, I don't understand how my mind works either. I'll provide the recipe sometime though - it's deceptively simple.

On a more sane note, I've got another article up at MiniWarGaming.com, this time a detail of the Necron Summoning Core I've started building. This is my first piece of Terrain, so be gentle :)

WH40K: Paint Stripping

April 22nd, 2008

My second article is up at MiniWarGaming.com - this time about Paint Removal. I had intended to do an article about Destroyer Assembly or the basic Necron Paint Job, but I kind of got ahead of myself. The Destroyer photos were fairly blurry and wouldn't make for a good article, and I just kind of got into a flow while painting my troops, and forgot to take pictures :P

Don't worry, there will be plenty more to paint coming up. Until then, have a look at Unpainting Miniatures.
